Jashan e Sultan ul Awliya
Birthday Celebration of Baba Jan Hazrat Al-Shaykh Muhammad Mohsin Munawar Yousafi
The blessed birth of Baba Jan Hazrat Al-Shaykh Muhammad Mohsin Munawar Yousafi (Madzhillahul Aali) is celebrated every year with great love, devotion, and spiritual grandeur at Dargah Mohsiniya, Johar Town, Lahore. The occasion marks not only the remembrance of his birth but also a renewal of love, connection, and spiritual allegiance among his followers — truly a luminous gathering known as “Jashan e Sultan ul Awliya.”
Baba Jan was born on 16 November 1966, a day that has remained radiant in the hearts of devotees. In his own writings, Baba Jan narrates the divine signs surrounding his birth — how his father, overwhelmed with joy upon receiving the news, began distributing gifts and sweets among the people, even sending desi ghee laddus to Bahawalpur and Sadiq Public School.
For the past many years, devoted Peer Bhais and sisters have celebrated this day by hosting a grand Mehfil-e-Milaad-un-Nabi ﷺ, beautifully blending the essence of love for the Prophet ﷺ with heartfelt affection for their Murshid. The event includes collective Zikr, spiritual addresses, glowing lights, floral showers, heartfelt hospitality, and a feast that symbolizes unity, gratitude, and devotion.
As Baba Jan beautifully reveals, in 2011, a divine message came in the spiritual realm from Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (رضی اللہ عنہ), declaring:
“From now on, we ourselves will oversee the matters of your birthday celebrations.”
Since then, devotees recognize this blessed occasion not merely as a celebration — but as a divine reflection of love, a sign of the continuing spiritual bond between the Murshid and Ghaus-e-Pak, and a renewal of light and guidance for the followers of the Naqshbandi Mohsini Silsila.
